Build time: Wed Jul 6 Cant replicate with a fresh install of 3. Doesnt load, unsupported database file size. I have the same issue since i installed qBittorrent. SagePtr mentioned this issue Aug 18, Update geoipdatabase. Hi, got the same issue: qBittorrent: v3. I hope it will be enough for few years. To sum things up, the purpose of my initial comment was to investigate the feasibility of a one time, out-of-band, legacy OS qbittorrent update, to mitigate that unfortunate MaxMind change; no one in the legacy OS communities expect you to backport the latest bells and whistles to be found in the 4.
In any case, since you're a member of the whole qbt organisation, I must thank you and the whole team alike for the wonderful journey spent with qbt all these years which, unless something pretty major happens, I see myself continuing for a while longer I would be willing to try backporting that patch who knows what kind of conflicts i might encounter if sledgehammer agrees to make another 4.
Sooner or later some other problem might crop and then there will be no hope to recover from it though, assuming 4. As far as reason 1 goes, that's fine. But I doubt it's your case. Now for point 2, which I already anticipate will be the most contentious. IMHO, any excuse that does not fit any of these categories is just pure laziness, and in that cases you are making a bunch of nonsensical rationalizations to keep using old, insecure, unsupported proprietary software.
And yes, in , any such invalid excuse deserves to get laughed at. If your machine is powerful enough and you don't have some funky compatibility requirements, just upgrade to Linux. If your machine is powerful enough to run Windows, but not powerful enough to run Windows on a VM, and you really need to use Windows, then just upgrade to WIndows 10 or even 7, even though that is EOL too at this point.
Whatever Windows you choose, you are already throwing your privacy out the door, at least try to remain secure by using a supported one. How much time have you wasted at this point "trying to keep the ol' gal running"? If you want tips about installing a Linux distro and knowing about FOSS software replacements, feel free to ask.
Contrary to popular belief, FOSS software is often better than proprietary alternatives. If they don't have actual necessity and they still run it, that's their problem. You don't need to follow their trend. They need to change, not us. I should have said "or anyone else that matters and is doing things right". It's even irresponsible to do so in my opinion, since it incentivizes users to stay on unsupported proprietary OSs, which is bad for their security.
Proprietary software should not be lovingly cared for, repaired and tolerated like a trustworthy old automobile. In an ideal world, proprietary software wouldn't even exist. That's good, but in case you were ever to switch, I would urge you to switch to another FOSS client, not a proprietary one. And the purpose of my initial comment, despite the comment's snarkiness, was to point out that this is an unreasonable request even for the 4.
Again, if you have actual necessity to use such OSs daily, I'll concede the point. If you don't have those valid reasons, I can either help you if you want to migrate away from them, or keep laughing at you and anyone else in the same circumstances if you don't.
Please don't take it personally, I'm just being honest. But I suppose regardless of Vangelis66 's motives or what they end up doing, the net result is positive - for people who want to stay in the 4. Plus, those users would also benefit from my WebUI performance patch from a while ago that I also backported to 4.
Even if there isn't a new release, the backport can still be made to the branch for anyone who is willing and capable of compiling from source. I would be willing to try backporting that patch who knows what kind of conflicts i might encounter snipped assuming 4.
Well, 12 days ago there used to be a 4. Why have a 3. At least mirrors of that missing branch reside elsewhere, better clone it myself before any future eventual disappearances This is indeed strange, I hadn't noticed either. The Lord does work in mysterious ways Though I seriously doubt it myself it was restored by divine intervention!
Thanks to whoever And tada , as if by pure magic, back it is now! Apparently it was deleted by accident. It has now been restored to its previous state. It was confirmed that no malicious change happened.
It uses DB-IP. Ok, it seems that you can in fact do that. Build time: Fri May 1 Josefvz mentioned this issue May 7, Version 3.
